Simple care keeps your stone looking new.

Natural stone

Granite, quartzite, marble, dolomite & soapstone

Do

• Clean daily with mild dish soap and warm water, using a soft cloth or sponge.
• If you use a cleaner, choose one made specifically for natural stone.
• Clean and reseal every 6 to 12 months with a proper stone sealer, not just a cleaner or polish.
• Soapstone: apply mineral oil or dry wax to deepen its color. Light scratches can be sanded out with fine sandpaper, then re-oiled.

Avoid

• Glass cleaners, bleach and other products not designed for stone.
• Excessive weight on unsupported overhangs. They can crack.
• Cutting directly on the stone. Always use a cutting board.

Quartz & engineered stone

Quartz, porcelain & sintered surfaces

Do

• Clean daily with mild dish soap and water, using a soft cloth or sponge.
• Only use cleaners that are safe for stone surfaces.
• Use coasters, trivets and pads to protect the surface from heat.
• Wipe up spills promptly, especially oils, wine and coffee.

Avoid

• Glass cleaners, bleach and harsh or abrasive chemicals.
• Hot pans, air fryers or appliances placed directly on the surface.
• Cutting directly on the countertop. Always use a cutting board.
